In the Old Testament, the priests offered sacrifices for their sins and for the sins of the people. However, in the New Testament, Jesus comes and offers himself as a sacrifice for us for once and for all. He is perfect and through his death, we are forgiven of our sins and brought into a right relationship with God. What a gift!
